Teachers of the Deaf Pass Auditory-Verbal Educators' Exam
September 30, 2008--Pam Fortier, Linda Goodwin, Steve Noyce, Chris Soland, and Anne Smyth can put a string of new letters after their names. This June at the AG Bell Conference, they were among the first to take--and pass--the Listening and Spoken Language Specialist exam for Auditory-Verbal Educators. The AG Bell Academy introduced the LSLSCertAVEd credential this year to help identify excellent auditory-verbal programs. Stacey Jenkinson, Tucker-Maxon’s only eligible teacher of the deaf who hasn’t taken the test, plans to do so in October.
